Lovin’ Our Libraries Road Trip Was A Gas For Local Residents

To the Readers’ Forum:

We would like to thank the Chautauqua Cattaraugus Library System for their Lovin’ Our Libraries CCLS Road Trip running from June 1 to August 31, 2023. We have currently visited over two-thirds of the 38 libraries in the two counties. What a good time we have had, and we are not finished yet. The beautiful and historic libraries and the helpful and engaging library personnel have made every library visit worthwhile. While visiting the libraries we have encountered activities for all ages – knitting groups, chess players, puzzles both finished and in progress for anyone to add to, inviting and colorful areas for children, summer reading programs for all ages, cozy chairs for reading on site, computers, seed packets for the taking, and several library cats to amuse you.

We encourage you to go to any one of the 38 member libraries and pick up your road trip map to get started today. There is still time this summer to visit some, if not all, of them. There are prizes to be had, selfies that can be taken, and LOTS of wonderful books to be checked out for your summer reading pleasure. And you can drop that book back at any member library.

Thank you again, Chautauqua Cattaraugus Library System, you have given us many wonderful memories and hours and hours of reading pleasure. And a special shout out to Laurie and Sandy at the Falconer Public Library for getting us started on our 2022 Library Road Trip last year and again this year. We didn’t get to all of them last summer but thanks to you, we are back again this year to finish them all!
